Giorgi Tkesheliadze's winery is located in the village of Goraberezhouli in Chokhatauri. Vines have been cultivated on his homestead for generations, and wine has been traditionally produced for family consumption. Therefore, viticulture and winemaking have always been familiar activities for Giorgi.
"Iberieli" is Zurab Tofuridze's family winery, located in the village of Sakvavistke, Chokhatauri Municipality. Our family possesses 2 hectares of vineyards in Guria and 5.5 hectares in Kakheti. The name "Iberieli(Iberian)" was chosen by my children. It pays homage to the people who crafted wine in the Caucasus countless millennia ago, later to be known as Georgians.
The Mamaladze family's cellar is situated in the village of Bukistsikhe, within the Chokhatauri municipality. The winery has been operational for a decade. Currently, there are 500 Tsolikouri grape plants and 300 Chkhaveri grape plants, along with a small quantity of Jani, Sakmiela, and Aladasturi, grown within the Marani's premises.
“Winemaking is a family tradition for us; even my great-grandfather's father had vineyards planted on the banks of the Supsa River. I always wanted to continue this tradition and breathe new life into the ancient Guri endemic varieties. We have consistently produced natural wines at home.
The founder, Besik Meparishvili, recalls the history of the winery's creation as follows: "In 2010, I returned from the city to the village with my wife and newly-born son. We began our life in the homestead left by our great-grandmother and grandfather. In my yard, an open-type cellar typical of Guria lay lifeless at the bottom of huge withered hornbeam and cherry-laurel trees. Day by day, the idea grew in my mind to somehow bring life and joy back to the cellar.
Davit and Tariel Kobidze's family wine-cellar is situated in western Georgia, specifically in the eastern part of the Guria region, within the village of Erketi, nestled in the picturesque Supsa river valley. Erketi holds historical significance as a village where viticulture and winemaking have been practiced for generations. Guided by a profound appreciation for vines and a deep respect for traditions, the founders of the Cellar embarked on a journey to rejuvenate the family farm, an endeavor that echoes the viticultural legacy traced back through generations.
